The New Year just started and people are starting their New Year's resolutions. Some people don't go through with their resolutions, so we want to try and help people who have failed before achieving their goals for 2022. We also want to see what the reason is for people quitting certain resolutions, why some of the resolutions are so hard for some people to stick with for the rest of the year, what resolutions are the easiest ones to keep, and why. Let's make it so the next time you say, “New year, New me”, you will actually mean it.
The first thing we want to talk about is the more popular New year resolutions. Some of the most popular resolutions are living healthier, which is 23% of people, finding happiness at 21%, losing weight 20%, exercising 7%, stopping smoking 5%, and reducing drinking 2%.
The most common New Year's resolutions are also the ones that people tend to not stick with such as getting fit, drinking less, or smoking less. There are many reasons why people don't stick to their resolutions. People tend to treat a marathon like a sprint, meaning people try to get their goal done too quickly. Resolutions like getting fit, won't just happen in a week. Goals like this need hours and hours of work throughout the year. In order to run the marathon, you need to be consistent. Consistency is key when trying to stick by a resolution. Don't overwork yourself in the first month; you need to plan out a strategy that isn't too much for you to stick by throughout the year. You can start by making a daily or even weekly calendar that talks you through your weekly plans. Another tactic you can use is to put money into your resolution such as buy a gym membership or start shopping at stores with healthier options. By putting money into your resolutions, you are more likely to stick with it because you don't want your investment to go to waste. This tactic will, hopefully, increase your motivation.

Here are some tips to keep your New Year's resolutions. First, put some time into planning your resolution out fully. Make sure you write down anything that could go wrong and try to avoid it. When planning, instead of making a couple of big steps, try to break them down into a lot of small steps.
If you have failed a resolution in the past, then try to avoid repeating what you did, and if you feel like giving up or if it gets too hard, find someone to help you with your resolution. You need to be able to persevere. For example, if you are trying to lose weight and you accidentally gain a little bit don't beat yourself down. People fail all the time and just bounce back and come back better.
The last tactic that would help you exponentially would be to choose a resolution that you are passionate about. When you are passionate about something it makes the work easy, and because of that you are more likely to stick with your resolution throughout the year.
New Year's resolutions are important to many people's lives. They help create a purpose throughout the year, but they can be very tricky to stick to and accomplish. That's why you need to create a plan, make weekly calendars, pressure yourself by spending money, and pick something you are passionate about. With these tips, sticking by your New Year's resolutions should be a walk in the park.
