Douglas County announced they were going to be making a new schedule, starting for the 2023-2024 school year. Basically why they decided to do this , was because the DECA program we have at all of our Douglas County schools ,students will be able to do these programs at any school , so in order for this to work they would need the schedules to line up.

Next year this schedule is going to look different. We will have all of the same classes from Monday through Thursday as we usually do, but on every Friday it will be a PLC day for all teachers. On Friday there will be 50 minute classes and school will start at 8:25 on all Fridays.

I talked to some staff, faculty and students about how they feel about the new schedule change. Many students mentioned that they do like the fact that they will be starting late on all Fridays. The staff and faculty are also liking the new schedule as well , since it will give students throughout Douglas County the ability to participate in these DECA programs no matter what school they go to. Administrators are excited to see how this 2023-2024 school year goes and to see if these new schedule accommodations will help the students of Douglas County participate in more educational opportunities.
