Contouring of my self portrait
Today's lesson, I outlined my face and added shadows. It was fun identifying my features and adding shapes my face.
Blue printing of my contour drawing
Today's lesson, I used carbon paper and transfer my face to another blank piece of paper. It was interesting to see how carbon paper work. The face looked pretty similar.
Traced Portrait Features - Faciography
Today's lesson, I reused the carbon paper to transfer the contour of my drawing onto the cardboard. I also cut out the shape of my face, facial features, shadows and highlights. It was quite troublesome as I had to make sure I didn't overlap the features on the cardboard.

Today's lesson, I outlined my hair and hair frame and cut it out.

Today's lesson, I am finally done with the piece. I enjoyed the process of making the art piece every much.
REFLECTION- PRAISE & POLISH
PRAISE- I enjoy the process of making this art piece. At first, I thought it would be very troublesome and confusing to make this art piece. However, as I followed the steps on the website to making this art piece, I ended up finding it relaxing to cut out the pieces and paste them together. I think this is because I am fully concentrated and immersed in the work, tossing all my worries aside. I am glad that I find this artwork therapeutic and not as stressful as I thought it was at first. Out of all the steps in making the art piece, I find that I had made the hair the best. It was fun planning and placing where the cardboard pieces should go. I am glad that the hair turn out great. I am also thankful for Ms Ng for helping me throughout the process, clarifying my doubts and worries and how to do the art piece better.
POLISH- Although everything overall went well, I think there is still bits and pieces that I should improve and polish them better. I think one of the bigger factor that I should improve on is my clothing. It was difficult to find clean and colourful soft carboard to make the clothes. Even though the clothing turns out not as bad as I thought it will be, I think the clothing should have more design and colours so that the art piece will look better and more vibrant overall. If given the opportunity next time to make the art piece, I will be sure to prepare finding of colourful soft carboard earlier so that I will manage to collect more varieties of different cardboards with more time in hand.
