PRAISE - I have learnt to become more responsible to bring my things and complete my work on time. During the period of doing this piece of artwork, I realised that I must be responsible enough to bring my materials to lessons. I remembered that when we were going to do the shirt of the artwork, an email was sent to remind students to bring their materials, but I did not see it. The next lesson, I had almost nothing to work with and it was quite a waste of time as I could not continue with my piece. Also, I was quite behind on time with my artwork as I tried to redo quite a few things because I was not satisfied with it. I was much slower than others and was afraid that I might actually not be able to finish my artwork in the following weeks and end up handing in an incomplete piece of artwork. The next few lessons towards the end, I would always remember to check if I needed to bring anything for the art lesson to ensure that I do not forget to bring anything. I would also try to work faster for my artwork to catch up with others and to be on time. That's why, by doing this artwork, I have learnt to be more responsible to bring my things and complete my work on time.
POLISH - I think that I could have done my hair and shirt better. I think that the hair strips could have been cut better and placed in better positions to give my hair more volume. Also, if given the opportunity, I would have wanted to try to add bangs and tried a different colour for my hair to explore the variety of hairstyles. I should have tried to add more textures into my hair, like trying to curl my hair or just by simply using a different material to do my hair. For the shirt, the main thing I wanted to improve was the shape and texture of it. Initially, I didn't think too much about it and just glued the whole thing onto the cardboard. After seeing Ms Ng's sample, I realised that I should have curled the collars up a bit so that it looked and felt more 3D. Right now, My shirt feels very flat and 2D. Also, if I had the time, I would have done another design for the shirt. I would have chosen a brighter colour and tried to make it look more like a blouse.
