sticking the cut out pieces onto the base of the face
I messed up for the glasses as I glued it directly to my face. It made the entire thing look more 2D.
This lesson, we made the hair backing. With the extra time, I made new glasses but the coloured one ran out so I just used plain cupboard.
the hair
after some squeezing, I managed to fit the hair on the face
At this stage, all the components were done and I just need to stick them together
Just before I stuck them together with velcro, it was then I realized that I had forgotten to cut the part of the shirt that was above the collar. Sticking the velcro was quite challenging as I was afraid that I would stick it in the wrong position and be unable to remove it without destroying the whole thing. Luckily everything went smoothly.
Finally, I stuck the backing to theĀ back of the thing so that it could stand
And ta-da, this is the final result :)
Praise: The pasting of the cardboard was rather simple after sorting the different parts out. Even though there were some challenges along the way, I did not give up and continued to persevere on. Cutting a hole in the cardboard to make the glasses was hard as the cupboard was harder and stiffer compared to normal paper. I am rather proud that I managed to cut it out in the end even if it did not look perfectly like a circle.
Polish: I made some mistakes along the way. When I traced the blueprint, I forgot to label the different parts of my face and I had to spend more time sorting them out the next lesson. I stuck the glasses onto my face, making it look more 2D. I had to cut out another set of glasses and stick it on the nose bridge. If given the extra time, I would like to make another set of clothes to try out different designs.
