MY SELF PORTRAIT
Today we traced out the different parts of our picture and drawed out the contoured part of our face. This was very fun because I got to draw out the different features of my face and it was quite cool.

Today we used the carbon paper to trace out the outline onto the drawing block. It was quite cool because very cool to see what type of result will come up. But I think i messed up my braid a little bit and had to draw on some fake bangs so my forehead would not look too empty.

Today we cut out our face that we traced on the cardboard, but this time, i accidentely cut of my head from my neck because i made a mistake and drew my head when tracing, thus I had to use tape to tape it up, and although it was a litte bit flimsy, and didn't look too good, it was still okay I think

We also started to draw the 2nd layer-highlights today, and I realised that this was easier to cut compared to the hard cardboard so this was my favourite step of the entire process.

I really enjoyed this process as it was quite easy to cut and stick and although it is the simplest steps, it really brings out the face and 60% complete the look of the face

This was the first completion of the entire process!! At this stage, it doesn't look like me that much if you do a comparision... maybe becuse of the lack of specs.

For the shirt, i decided to use a plain white cardboard as the background and add more design for the collar and cut a non-perfect stars to use as the button of the shirt. The shirt decorations are cut from a starbucks coffee box.

Today, i started adding some peices of the hair to the front part and also added some baby hair in the front so that my forehead would not look that empty, and thankfully, my tracing was good so the hair peice fitted perfectly on the frame.

Today, I finished the braid and added the Xs so it looks more like braids
Praise: I think that this time, I did not bad for this artwork and it still resembles me a little bit, I also think I did a good job with the highlights and the hair part. One interesting part of this portrait is also the fact that my braids are detachable and I can choose if I want single, double or even no braids (although I will look weird). Additionally, from this project, I also learnt how to be more patient as cutting and tracing the face will take a long time and since the paper is also very hard, we have to take some time to cute it perfectly.
Polish: When I was preparing to take the picture, I smiled with my teeth and didn't think that I would struggle to cut and it would look weird later on. The teeth was also one of the hardest things to cut because of the edges. I think that in the future I can choose a picture without teeth so it would not look that weird and it would be easier too. Next time, I think I will also try other cardboard materials for the hair and other hairstyles too. At the start, I also accidentally traced my neck so when I want to cut the portrait, I accidentally cut off my neck too so I had to put tape on it and it resulted it in being not so nice, so next time if I were to try this again, I would be more careful of my tracing lines and what I cut.
