We outlined a picture of our face. The most troublesome part was differentiating the parts with shadow or were brighter.
We traced out our portraits but one thing i could have done better is that the lines were not smooth.
We traced out our head, neck and body on one layer of cardboard, and our face onto another cardboard.
I drew out 1.5cm from the head to create the cardboard hair backing. The shape of it was not complicated and i could easily paste it on. I also added different colours of paper to the facial features to further enhance them.
In addition, i created the hair with corrugated cardboard. I made a hairstyle with straignt hair like the original picture. I also added a small piece of velcro behind the hair so i can switch hairstyles.
I used two different cardboard pictures for the shirt. this will give a more colourful feel and a better design for the shirt. The process was easy because we only had to cut out cardboard and paste it on.
i trimmed the sides of the artwork a little so the artwork will be smoother. Then i added back the face and hair to the artpiece and lastly, i removed excess cardboard pieces dangling there.
Polish- If i had more time and better cardboard designs, I would have been able to make a shirt with more design and make the shirt look more vibrant with more sophisticated designs. If i was able to change my decision, I would also have been able to went with making my hair with a different texture, such as the brown coloured paper instead of corragated cardboard. I think that would have been able to suit my hairstyle more and make the overall design of the project look better.
