Contour outline of my self portrait
Blue print of self protrait
Drawing/Cutting Facial Features (Faciography)
Today during art lesson, I did a contour outline on my self protrait. I outlined my facial features such as my ears and my nose. I also added shapes to show my less significant features such as my eyebags. It required a lot of patience and concentration to trace out the different things but it was very fulfilling to see the result of my efforts.
We traced out our contour outline with the help of carbon paper to make a blueprint. It was my first time using carbon paper so it was naturally quite exciting. It was a little troublesome as I could not see if I had traced out the parts correctly and had to restart because I traced my nose wrongly.
This was generally an easy task and I quickly finished tracing out my facial features (e.g. nose, mouth) However, I had some difficulty cutting out these features as they were small and had very precise shapes. After a while, my hands also were cramped and I had to take breaks in between.
Designing Hair #1
Designing Hair #2
Making clothes
For my first hairstyle, I decided that I wanted to make my hair as creative as possible, while also giving off a comedic effect. Hence, I decided to do a girly hairstyle. However, it took longer than expected to make. Cutting the bangs proved to be tedious and twirling the strands of cardboard to show curly hair was hard. In the end, I was very proud of this girly hairstyle.
Velcro + Stand
Today, the lesson was very chill and I simply just made the velcro and stand. Therefore, I also touched up on other parts of my design.
For my second hairstyle, I decided to make a hair that resembled my actual hairstyle. However, I decided that it was too boring. Hence, I made the hair look like it stood up. This made it look more manly, in contrast to my previous girly hairstyle. (I still prefer my first hairstyle it is very amusing)
END PRODUCT:
For my clothes, I wanted to make it suited for my first hairstyle, so I took inspiration from female school uniform. However, I also wanted to make it also suited for my second hairstyle, so I also added a black suit onto my clothes. (aka tuxedos) This makes it a mix between female school uniform and tuxedos.

Praise: Frankly speaking, I am very satisfied with my artwork. Although I enjoy art, I am usually very slow and careful when it comes to art, so I tend to not be able to finish things up and have to rush things on the last few lessons. This year, I am very happy to finally finish an artwork with meticulous care. I also think think my artwork does not look too bad and I am proud of the work.
Polish: However, there are definitely some things I would change about my artwork. On hindsight, I would have used white paper for the inner shirt on my design because the branded cardboard does not match with the black suit and it also does not highlight the school uniform design I was looking for. I would have also made a proper collar instead of green strip of cardboard. On top of that, I would have tried to be more professional and try to reduce sketch marks, glue stains and pointy edges in my work.
