My self potrait
Contour outline of my photograph
During this lesson, we outlined the features of our face and added shadows. I tried to draw as many features as possible so my face will have layers when i cut out the carboard. It was an enjoyable lesson.
Blueprint of my potrait
Today, we traced the feature of our face and the hair and the collar again, with a carbon paper below, printing the coal lines onto the drawing block paper. We included all the little details as that is what we want to cut out. It was an interesting lesson as i was working like a manual printer
Traced facial features- faciagraphy
I traced my face features onto the cardboard and cut my round face out. I also traced the shawdows and highlghts onto different coloured cardboard.
Layering features
Today, i cut out my features from the different coloured paper and pasted them onto my face. I pasted my features, highlights and shadows. I think my face looks quite 3-D, with many features layering on top o one another. Although this does not look like me, i think i'm quite satisfied by today's work
Creating clothes
Today, I designed my clothes, cut them out, and pasted them on my body. I used the Meiji cupboard to make my clothing. I also made the collar by folding the cupboard and sticking another piece of it to the back, to cover the brown colour. I also used the pop mart logo to make a pocket for the shirt
Cutting my clothes
Today, i made another design of clothes. I decided to be abit wild and do something i have never worn before. I searched online for ideas and found this shirt idea. This shirt looks more casual and fun, and i wanted to create a lace texture to the sleeves but i think i failed. Still, i think my shirt is quite nice, i like it :)
cutting my hair
Today, i designed my hair and cut out my hair. i also cut strips of cupboard to add layers to my hair. This is my first deign of my hair. My hair is tied back up so it cannot be seen, but my fringe at both sides can be seen.
Cutting my hair
Today, i made another hair design. This hair design does not look like my real hair at all. I decided to use long hair, with different layers to it. I also used yellow paper to add some highlight and curls to my hair.
Variation 1
This is a final work with my fringe hair and meji shirt. I look like a happy child here, with easy and plain hair and shirt design
Variation 2
This is my second final work, with the meji shirt and long hair. i feel like i look like a young women working at a biscuit shop
Variation 3
This is my thrid final work. I used the fringe hair with the blouse. I feel like it looks like an all grown up women who is still full of energy and is going out for shopping with her friends.
Final work
This is my final work. i like this combinition the most. The hair makes me look like a fun and energetic person. The shirt makes my look more casual and easygoing so i like this variation the most.
Praise and Polish
Praise: When i did the face, i thought that the final product will not turn out well, because the face does not look at me at all. However, when i finished my shirts and my hair designs, it looks quite nice. It does not look like me, but i think it's still quite decent. I think i did well by using different colours for my facial features, to add layers and a 3D feel to my work. for my second hair design, i added yellow highlights and curled that to make it look more appealing and interesting.
Polish: I think i could have done better by tracing the facial features more accurately, so it will look more like me. I could have added more strands to my fringe hair and use different desgins like different shades, curls, so it will look more interesting, and less plain. For my shirt, i could have made it more special instead of just doing a plain t-shirt. I could do a jacket with a zip, or some funny shirt desings, using different kinds of carboards with different textures and colour. I could also have added more accessories like some necklaces , to make it look less plain. If i can do this all over again, i would think about my whole artwork first, before just doing the things according to the materials i have.
