SELF PORTRAIT
Contour outline drawing of my photograph
traced onto a piece of drawing block with carbon paper
questionably accurate face(?) felt like it was a bit puffy at the cheeks.
did my hair frame + did my glasses with metal wires! turned out really good (i would wear those if they were real glasses)
look at my fit!
made from one of my favourite snack packaging, should've made the collars 3D though
made my hair and added some highlights with some blue cardboard, then added a velcro tape to stick onto the head
made my ponytain to hang over my shoulder by attaching velcro to the side of my head
made my glasses with a piece of wire! modelled it to look like my real glasses
made another shirt! it was intended to be a rugby shirt but due to the excessive colours (i couldn't find anymore better cardboard...) it looks kind of overwhelming
attached velcro to the clothes so that i could stick the outfits on
added a frame at the back so that the cardboard figure can stand upright~

final product pt. 2!
I am really happy that i managed to somewhat accurately depict my face to make it into a cardboard relief. At first i thought that i wouldn't be able to do my glasses as they were rather thin and if i were to cut them out from a piece of cardboard, I would've failed as the cardboard would rip into two while cutting. Fortunately, i was provided with wires for me to craft the glasses, and was happy to see how it turned out! I managed to accurately cut out the shapes to form my face, and when pieced together, the look was neat and clean.
If i had the chance to do so, I would work more on the hair. It took up nearly a whole art class to do so 😭.
It was pretty tough to make out the shape of my fringe, as they were sideswept and pretty much layered. I had to cut and recut multiple pieces of cardboard to get that swept look and sometimes I might be happy about how a strand turned out but in the end it was too short to attach............the layering was also difficult to do as well. I had to make sure that my hair wasn't defying gravity by sticking out during the layering, and I had to make sure that none of the strands would drop out during the process.
Overall, I think that was the toughest part of the cardboard relief project. I was relieved when i manage to complete that factor.
