My SELF PORTRAIT
Contour Outline of the photograph
Today we outlined our faces and drew the shadow lines. I drew the lips, nose and my eyes. The lips were the hardest to draw in my opinion as even a little detail can change the look entirely.
Contour outline blueprint of the photograph
Today we used carbon paper to trace our face onto another paper and it was really hard for me as I kept misaligning the two papers, causing a few parts of the drawing to not be aligned. There was also a lot of smudges as a result of me pressing too hard on the paper when tracing the lines. The hair also was very hard to draw as it had very irregular shapes.
Tracing out the different shapes of my face onto cardboard.
Today we traced out faces onto cardboard, then traced the different facial parts onto the cardboard for cutting and pasting later on.
Cutting out and pasting the facial parts onto the main piece
Today we cut out the different facial parts we traced out last week and pasted them onto the main piece. Some of the facial parts were extra difficult to cut out as they were really small and hard to cut out precisely on a hard material like cardboard.
Cutting out individual stripes for the hair
Today I cut out each individual stripes from the cardboard and pasted them on the backing of the face to make the hair, it was very repetitive as there were many hair stripes I had to cut out, most of the same shape and size, but I could not finish it in time.
Continuation of the making of the hair
Today I continued with the cutting of each individual stripes to paste on the hair backing, when the hair got closer to the edge of the backing, I cut smaller and shorter stripes to fit the gradual decrease in size of the hair. I finally managed to finish the entire hair.

Making of the shirt and the collar
Today I made the shirt and the collar from used bags I found at home. I cut the bags into the shape of the collar and the shirt. I chose the pineapple design for the shirt because it represents wealth. I only sticked the edge of the collar at the end of the collar so that it could pop up better and I curled it up.
Sticking of the stand
I also taped one long piece of cardboard to the back of the the portrait so that it could stand on its own.
Sticking of the velcro at the back of the head
Today I sticked one piece of velcro at the main piece of the portrait and the head so that the head could stay on the main piece.
Sticking of velcro on the hair
I also sticked a few small pieces of velcro on the hair and the head so that the hair can stay on the portrait.

Praise: I think that I did well for the hair as I spent a lot of time cutting out every single strand and sticking it onto the frame, and I am pretty satisfied with how the hair turned out. I also think that my face was done well because I managed to use the different shades of the cardboard to make the facial features look more defined, especially how the small white cardboard I pasted in the eye made it look more real.
Polish: One thing that I think I could have done better is that I could have erased the pencil marks on face pieces so that it would be more neat and tidy. I also think that I could have added more intricate design to the shirt as it might be too simple. Nevertheless, I think I did quite well on the portrait overall as it kind of looks like me.
