Outline of portrait
During the second lesson, the class had to start outlining our faces which was quite easy except when we had to identify and lighter and darker areas of our faces which was a bit more challenging.
Tracing
The second part during the second lesson was to put the carbon paper under our photo and trace the outlines we drew so that our photo would be "copied" over to the blank paper.
Cutting our base
During the third lesson, the class had to cut out the shape of our head, neck and body which is going to be the first layer of cardboard. Then we had to cut another cardboard of the shape of our head as the second layer.
Adding highlights
During the fourth lesson,we had to trace out the details and highlights of our face on a cardboard which we then pasted over our base. The class also used a different colour cardboard to cut out the light parts of our face and pasted it over the base to add layers.
Cutting hair frame
During the fifth lesson, since i was one of the faster few in the class, I learnt how to cut my hair frame. I had to cut two pieces, one is the backing and the other is the hair itself. The backing had to be larger than the hair itself.
Adding the hair onto the hair frame
During the 6th lesson, I learnt how to cut and add my hair. I took a textured cardboard and cut leave like shapes that represented my hair and stuck them on my hair frame. I was told to cut bigger pieces so as to make sure that my whole hair frame would be covered.
Adding highlights and adjustments
I added two black pieces of paper onto my hair so that there would be a pop of colour and that my hair would not be just one singular colour. I also made sure that my hair pieces would cover the whole hair frame.
Making my clothes.
I took a a white paper bag and cut it up to the shape of my body so that it can be used as my shirt. I then added half a puma design so that I could match with my friend who had the front half and I made a pocket.
Adjustments to my clothes
On the 7th lesson, after seeking Ms Ng's opinion on my clothes, she said that it was to simple and that it needed some volume and colour. Thus, I changed the collar so that it would pop out and added some words ands design on my shirt so it would look more aesthetically pleasing.
Finalising the shirt design
I added more flowers and words to the shirt so that it would look more high fashion. I added stars for the 3d effect. After that, I stuck velcro on my head, face and hair so they can stick to each other.
End product
This is my end product. I added a long strip of cardboard at the back of my body so that it can stand upright.

Praise: At first, I thought that after cutting my face shape, it did not look like me even though I followed the exact tracing of my face. Surprisingly, the end result still looked similar to how i actually look like. Another thing I'm proud of is my hair. I was hesitant when making my hair as I was afraid that it might make the end product look bad but I trusted the process and in the end, the product looked good.
Polish: One thing I could improve on during this whole process was to put in more effort when making my clothes. For my shirt, I randomly added designs to my shirt so that there will be a pop of colour. However, I did not like the positions of the designs on my shirt, thus making the whole design of the shirt look very plain and simple. If If I were to be able to repeat this whole process, I would think more carefully on how I would design my shirt. I would be more meticulous when choosing the location of the each design.
