Praise: I enjoyed the process of making it. I attempted to use my own technique to make the cardboard face look as realistic as possible, to control the dimension such that it can match a person’s face better. For example, the nose is more three-dimensional while eyes are more deep. There were cold and warm gradients used to create a more attractive and three-dimensional image. I added the lighting too in an attempt to make it look less flat as cardboard. Next up is the clothing, I spent more time on the first clothing for it to look more exquisite. However, it ended up looking obsolete so I made the second clothing. I felt that it was a good thing to give another shot and try again. I love how the camera can capture my cardboard face as a person’s face. Overall, I tried my best for the project because I just purely enjoy art.
Polish: For the hair, I put on shadows below. It was a struggle to make the curving pattern look the way I want it to be. Additional shadowing also meant extra time needed to patiently glue all the shadows on the hair stripes. I spent an enormous amount of effort on the face but was still not very pleased with the result. If given more time, I would try better and add more details. During the process, I did lose patience sometimes and sliced myself accidentally. This is a characteristic I can improve on, to make the artwork look better.
