PRAISE - For myself I feel that my art work did not really turn out as what I though it would be, but I feel that one thing I think that I did well was my blouse/shirt. I managed to find colorful cardboard boxes from my house to use to make the blouse. As red is a vibrant and happy color, it managed to bring out some some form of happiness in my art piece which makes it aesthetically pleasing. There are many challenges I have faced. Cutting the cardboard was one challenge that I felt that it was hard to overcome, but in the end I managed to. The carboard was thick and hard, so when I was cutting it , it was not easy at all as I have to force the scissors down in order to cut. And for some parts, where it requires me to make a curve cut, I have to take multiple snips of line in order to cut it through. After that I will use the scissors to do some corrections along the sides. I feel that the challenges I faced requires me to be patient and concentrated when doing this art piece which is a good way to train myself to be discipline.
POLISH - If I was given another chance to redo this art piece, I would choose to add more textures in my hair as my current hair style is just layering different shades of thick paper. I feel that I could maybe take reference from Ms Ng's work by using the corrugated board to add contrast and texture to that hair. Or maybe an alternative is to use a pencil to curl the pieces of paper strips that has been stuck on to the hair frame to show that there actually layers of paper and not just a 2D hair piece.
