after receiving our picture, we need to outline the highlights of our faces (shadows, lighting etc) at first, it was quite hard to identify the highlights of my faces as the highlights were mostly on the left side of my face and if I outlined most parts of the left side of my face, the right side of my face would become very "plain" causing it not to be proportionate and to turn out not very nice but in the end I managed to identify some highlights on the right side of my face to make it nicer
after we outlined our portrait, we used carbon paper to re trace our outline of the portrait onto a piece of cardboard. to be honest, it was kind of hard to trace the exact same line onto the carbon paper. some of my lines were not that smooth and some of them were crooked. it was kind of hard to control the lines when drawing and after the process, some of the lines was not in place as I expected them to be in. generally, it was manageable but it was also difficult at the same time
we traced our facial features today on the extra cardboards after cutting the portrait out ! however, during the process of cutting out the shape of my face, I struggled a lot especially since we were cutting cardboard which is very hard to control the scissors especially the turning points on the drawing itself. however, it was fun to trace out our facial features onto the cardboard and labelling it ! I really enjoyed the process and it was easier than I thought !
we traced our facial highlights today !! it was quite fun to stick the pieces of paper and cardboard onto our face. however, the smaller parts of paper like the eye balls were very difficult to cut out and it is so small that I can't not even control the amount of glue that I put onto the paper resulting the glue to overflow onto the cardboard. for the cutting process, I really enjoyed it and the process of drawing the feature out onto another piece of cardboard to cut it out was also really fun !!
after we stick the highlights onto our face, we started to do the backing for the hair. at first, it was hard to trace out the shape of the backing and cutting it out based on the shape given. however, it was a really fun process and i really enjoyed pasting the backing
the process of cutting out pieces of the cardboard and sticking it onto my hair was the part in which i enjoyed the most in this whole art journey. this allows me to be more creative and the cutting of pieces was extremely fun but also hard at the same time. all in all i feel that the hair is the most difficult part but also enjoyable as we need to cut the shape of our hair based on our picture which was kind of difficult
after finishing my hair, i pasted the design onto my face frame. although it didnt turn out as well as i expected, generally i felt that i tried my best and the process was still fun for me to handle !!
the designing of the clothes was so fun and after i made the "skeleton" of the design, i feel that it was too plain and i decided to add more details like the shiny buttons and the collar to make my art work stand out
after designing the clothes, i went on and pasted it onto my face frame. i found out that the shirt was too big but the design was very colourful and i am satisfied with the design of my clothing
i have finally completeed the design ! it turned out well for me and i was extremely happy with the process and my final product !
after finishing the design, i pasted the bakcing to make the artwork stand! i was so happy that i managed to make it stand as some people have the difficulty of making it stand ! all in all, i really enjoyed this process
PRAISE: generally, I feel that the process of making the design of our faces and the clothing were really fun ! although there was much more room for improvement, i personally feel that I did well in the designing of my clothes as i can let my ideas run wild and be able to cut many pieces of different colours and designs, sticking it onto my clothes to make it have a good and vibrant conbonation of colours
POLISH: apart from art, I personally feel that the most important key point to take away from this project is determination and perserance. with the many ups and downs this project has given me, I feel that if i was giving another chance to do it again, i would ensure that i would have more patience in myself and having more confidence in the final product every lesson
