This is the photo that i took for my artwork. I drew some lies that outline my facial features such as my eyes, spectacles and eyeshadow.

After that, I traced out the photo that I took on a blank piece of paper. The face was also cut out so that I can use it as a reference and trace it out on cardboard.

I traced out my face from the piece of paper (face cut out from the previous picture) I also traced out all my facial features such as my eyes, eyeshadow, cheeks, chin and spectacles

I cut out the facial features and face from the cardboard and pasted the facial features on the face

I then started to paste the backing and I used the piece of paper in the second photo (without face) to trace out the face and cut out the piece of carboard, forming the hair. After that, I pasted the hair onto the backing.

I then designed the shirt by cutting and pasting the white cardboard on the body (which i cut out after tracing the photo)

I then pasted velcro straps onto the back of the hair and face of the cardboard. I also coloured the tie of the shirt with red diagonal patterns to make the shirt more colourful

This is my final piece of artwork after I pasted the cardboard onto the back of the body so that it can stand.

Reflections: Praise and Polish

Praise

I feel that the part where I did well was where I traced out of face and cut it. The process was smooth, and I used the teacher's design as a reference so that I can make sure I do not make any mistakes. I feel that the first step of making an artwork is very important since the outcome of the artwork will majorly affect the final artwork. Overall, I am satisfied with my work.

Through these art lessons, I learnt that every step we do can impact the outcome of certain situations (e.g. when I cut my cardboard wrongly without noticing the mistake, it can change the look of the artwork)

Polish

During the process of designing the shirt, I find it very challenging to think of the design of the shirt. My initial thoughts were to make a plain, white shirt, but it was too simple. After some thinking, I feel that I should add some stripes to the tie of the shirt. At first, I also wanted to add a pocket that can fit small things inside, but I failed hence I decided to design a simple pocket. Overall, I feel satisfied with my work but not my shirt design.

I learnt that thinking deeply always helps to generate ideas.
