This is the starting of my journey of making a cardboard cut out of myself.
During this process, i felt that is was relatively easy as all we had to do was trace out some areas where there may be shadows as well as the features on our face.
During this stage, I felt that it was considerably harder as i struggled to hold the papers in place so as to not mess up and have to redo the whole piece. I also felt that drawing over was also much harder then tracing.
I felt this was the hardest part so far as I did not know what to do as I did not come for the previous lessona dn had to play catch up with everyone else and had to learn everything that other people had already learnt.
As I did not come for the lesson where most of the class did this step, I had a lot of catching up to do. Thus, I asked my friends and teacher on how to do this step, and when I was not sure on whether or not to stick the backing onto the face, I asked the teacher. I feel that I could have cut the backing better.
For the hair, I took inspiration from how my hair looks like after I get out off the swiming pool after training, where my hair is standing up in all directions and are very spiky. I feel that I replicated my hair style very well and acurate.
I feel that because of the fact that I had cut the backing of my hair slightly off, my hair was also not symmetrical, thus I personally feel that I could have done better on certain aspects of the full head but I still feel okay with the outcome.
I felt that is part was the easiest part to do as all i had to do was cut out the shape of my shirt on a piece of cardboard then stick it onto the original cardboard. After that, I used the same type of cardboard but flipped it around so that the collar would be white.
I added the head with the hair backing onto the newly designed shirt to see if everything fit together and looked okay. So that if I needed to redo the shirt or cover up certain parts of the shirt so it looks better.
I feel satisfied with my final product. I feel that my hair is not bad and it looks like what i actually look like after getting out of the pool. However, I feel that I could have done better on my face. As I did not come for 1 session, I did not know how to do face and the shadows on the face. However, I asked my friends and the teacher on how to do my face and the shadows as well as what I need to cut.
Polish: I feel that after every step, my face became more and more unlike myself. I feel that I could have done certain parts better such as the shadows as well as the facial features. I could also have added a little more details on my shirt such a button area to make it look like a button shirt. Lastly, I feel that I could have focused a bit more on during the lesson so as to not make the mistake of cutting the ears out.
