PRAISE -
Although my art has always been very bad, i put a lot more effort this time, and even though my work was not very nice, it is still a testament of my hard work for this whole semester! For example, although the cutting of the hair was difficult because i am bad at designing, however, i utilised the useful tips from Ms Ng to fill up the whole frame and make it as nice as possible. Thanks for all the guidance and help that Ms Ng gave to us with so much patience, only because of that, i was able to complete my art piece, i have learnt so much, and i like art a lot more now! Also, i have appreciated my facial features, and learnt more about facial features because of this art project, allowing me to have the ability to embrace and learn from mistakes. As I encountered missteps and imperfections along the way, I realised that these were valuable opportunities for growth, and learned to see mistakes not as failures but as stepping stones toward improvement. This shift in perspective has not only enhanced my artistic skills but also fostered a more resilient and adaptable mindset in all aspects of my life.

If given the opportunity to repeat this project, I wish I could have enhanced the realism of my cardboard self-portrait by experimenting with more diverse textures and materials. Specifically, I wish I had explored the use of different types of paper or fabric to create a more lifelike representation of the various textures found in human skin and hair. For instance, incorporating fine tissue paper for a smoother skin texture or experimenting with textured fabric for a more realistic representation of clothing and accessories could have added depth and authenticity to my self-portrait. This would have allowed me to further refine the tactile qualities of my artwork and achieve a more convincing visual impact. i would also make more than one shirt and hairstyle for my face, so that i can have more choices. if I had taken a bolder approach, I could have conveyed specific emotions, moods, or facets of my personality. For instance, I could have explored various facial expressions, such as a mischievous smile or a contemplative gaze, to convey different aspects of my character. This could have provided a deeper insight into my personality and made the self-portrait more dynamic and engaging.
