Principal's Pen

Last week I was representing the College at Celtic Manner in Wales for the annual HMC and as part of the COBIS Board in London.

Doha College is the only HMC school in Qatar and one of only a small and select group of mainly not-for-profit schools within the Middle East.

Our numerous associations - with HMC (a collection of the very best UK and International Independent Schools - see here), COBIS (the Council of British International Schools - see here), AoBSO (the Association of British Schools Overseas - see here), CIS (the Council of International Schools - see here), IAPS (the Independent Association of Prep Schools - see here) and AGBIS (the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools - see here) are both incredibly important to us as an independent stand alone not-for-profit school and unique here in Qatar for their depth and scope.

The HMC, or newly renamed Head’s Conference, provides an important link with the UK independent (private school) sector. The annual meetings provide a unique forum for hearing from some of the most aspiring thinkers in education and beyond, but, most importantly, allow for the deep interaction with schools of our type from around the world who are experiencing the same and different challenges and opportunities as we are.
