At Doha College, we know that preparing our pupils for the future means more than just academic results. It means nurturing self-awareness, confidence, and emotional intelligence so they can thrive in a rapidly changing world.
That is why we are excited to introduce Futures Day, taking place on Sunday, 28th September 2025. This is a full day dedicated to helping pupils reflect on who they are, where they are heading, and the steps they can take now to build a fulfilling future.
Every year group will take part in a carefully designed programme that blends three core areas:
Positive Education: exploring optimism, gratitude, values, and resilience
Careers Education: from CV writing to university guest speakers and future pathway planning
Oracy: building confidence, communication, and public speaking skills
Activities are age-appropriate and will include everything from IGCSE taster sessions to mock interviews, storytelling, a community art project, interview practice, and goal-setting.
The World Economic Forum highlights the urgent need to equip young people with the skills and mindset to adapt, communicate clearly, and think critically. Futures Day supports this mission.
By encouraging pupils to take ownership of their future now, we hope to spark motivation and curiosity that lasts long beyond the day itself.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing more after the event.

During the training, pupils explored the distinction between coaching and mentoring, created pledges for how they will lead others’ learning, designed support plans, and practised coaching techniques using the OSCAR model.
‘’Sometimes the path beyond us may seem impossible, However, at DC, we're incredibly lucky to have a community of academically talented pupils. We should try to positively exploit this and make success available to all, rather than a rare commodity. Certainly, being a Leader of Learning will make this possible, and will break down any remaining obstacles.'’ Nandika Anukul
“From the training, I learned that mentoring is more than just sharing knowledge - it’s about making a space where pupils feel comfortable, organised and ready to learn.” Rukkayah Abdur Razzaq
These new Leaders of Learning will soon begin supporting and mentoring younger pupils in their science studies. Any secondary pupil who would like help from a Leader of Learning in science is encouraged to speak to their teacher or scan the QR codes in the science corridor.
I very much look forward to seeing our Leaders of Learning shine in their new roles, using their skills to inspire others and contribute to a culture of success across the college.
