In some instances, the children have been standing up and moving around the car or even leaning precariously out of the car’s window. In most countries, injuries are the leading cause of death for young children, and in the majority of developed countries, more than half of these injuries involve an automobile. Research in Canada suggests that a 71% reduction in deaths and a 67% reduction in injuries can be achieved when child safety seats are used properly.
We will be looking at how we can help further educate children at the school about the importance of wearing a seatbelt. I would encourage all members of our community to reinforce this message. Please be respectful and supportive if a member of our Security Team reminds your children to fasten their safety belts while driving in and around the school.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

I am pleased to announce the forthcoming University of Waterloo Gauss Mathematics Contest, a respected competition open to students in Year 7 and Year 8 who are keen on mathematics.
The Gauss contests introduce students to a broader perspective of mathematics in a fun, accessible way. Intriguing problems and a multiple-choice format make the Gauss contests a wonderful opportunity for all participants to grow their interest in and get curious about the power of maths.
