At Doha College, we believe that sustainability is more than just a topic, it is a responsibility. Our children are growing up in a world that needs creative and committed problem solvers, and our eco initiatives are designed to help them understand their role in protecting the planet and ensuring this for future generations.
One of the most exciting eco projects this term has been our Year 6 ‘Trashion’ Show. Taking inspiration from the saying "one person’s trash is another’s treasure," our students have designed, created, and modelled outfits made entirely from recycled materials. The show was a testament to their ingenuity and commitment to sustainability. Beyond the fun and creativity, this initiative reinforced an important message: waste can be reimagined, reused, and transformed into something valuable. This builds on the eco mantra of reduce, recycle and reuse.
Our commitment to eco education also extends beyond the classroom and into our outdoor spaces. The Primary School garden, nestled beside the Key Stage 2 play park and the Primary Dining Hall, has been flourishing thanks to the dedication of our young gardeners, under the stewardship of Mr Owen and Ms Barnaby (see below). This green space is a place of learning, where children cultivate plants, discover the importance of biodiversity, and witness first-hand the rewards of patience and care. Whether planting fruit and vegetables, tending to flowers, or exploring composting, our students are developing a deep appreciation for nature and its delicate balance.
Eco education is about shaping attitudes and actions. By embedding sustainability into our curriculum and daily routines, we are empowering our students to think critically about environmental issues and to become responsible global citizens. Thank you for supporting these initiatives at home. At Doha College, we firmly believe that together, we can nurture a generation that values and protects our planet.

Gardening CCA Reaps Rewards with QAR 610 Raised at Primary Garden Sale
We are excited to share that last week's Primary Garden Sale was a tremendous success, raising a total of QAR 610. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our Gardening CCA students, who have put in six months of effort to make the sale a reality.
The funds raised will be used to purchase additional plants and equipment for our garden, ensuring it continues to thrive and provide valuable learning experiences for our students.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
