Recently in College we were very privileged to welcome one of our new governors, Chris Davies, who was visiting the College for the first time as he travelled to Qatar from the United Kingdom.
Chris is a former Headmaster of Abingdon Prep School and has also served as Chair of IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) of which Doha College is an overseas member. During his visit he was able to hear first hand about some important strategic developments within the College, including our DC Leadership Award, the College’s emerging Learner Profile and the work of our teaching and learning working group. Chris also had the opportunity to visit classes and meet with staff and pupils. He was hugely complementary of the College, the education it provides and our staff and pupil body.
Later in the week, I was also able to deliver some new governor induction to two of our newly elected parent governors who are now ready to start their important role. As a not-for-profit school, all of our governors are volunteers and we are hugely grateful for the time they willingly give in supporting the success and future development of the College.
This week also saw me welcome two pupils - Ibrahim from Year 2 and Umar from Year 4 who have been working on a College charity initiative. Their kindness and care of those around them really shone through and it was a pleasure to hear how hard they are working for those less fortunate than themselves.
