As the academic year draws to a close, we are initiating the process of student textbook returns which is vital to ensure these resources are available for the upcoming school year.
Your child has received detailed instructions via email regarding how textbooks should be returned. Please note the following guidelines to assist us in keeping the process organised:
Location and Time for Returns: Textbooks can be dropped off at the Secondary Library or in the designated boxes located near the examination office by reception. Books can be dropped off from 7.00 am onwards.
Procedure: It is important that textbooks are not returned to class teachers, as this prevents effective tracking. Please ensure that textbooks are returned at the end of each exam.
Accountability: Please be aware that any textbooks that are lost or not returned will result in a deduction from your school deposit. The final deadline for textbook return is Monday, 16th June 2025.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me at rratnayake@dohacollege.com.

This week our Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a taster lecture delivered by Dr Matthieu Burnay from the School of Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
The session was organised in collaboration with QMUL's School of Law and the School of Politics and International Relations, offering students a glimpse into university-level learning. Dr Burnay led an engaging lecture on the theme of Law and Globalisation, exploring key concepts such as globalisation itself, the main actors involved, legal instruments, and underlying values. The talk was followed by a lively Q&A session, where students asked insightful questions about careers in law and politics, as well as the broader role of legal systems in our world today.
This enriching experience provided a fantastic introduction to potential pathways in higher education and sparked genuine curiosity among students about the fields of law, politics, and international relations.

Between 21st and 23rd April, our secondary students took part in a wonderful game of Live Cluedo!
Across the three days, students tracked down teachers, answered questions and worked out that Katniss Everdeen had been killed by Miss Scarlett, in the kitchen with the candlestick. It was a wonderful few days of excitement and activity as our students searched high and low for the teachers who held the clues. Thank you to all staff and students who took part, and a huge well done to our winners who will be receiving a book of their choice:
