This past week has seen our wonderful Year 13 students (our Class of 2024) having their final full day in College and their leaving celebrations. Although I have only had a short period of time to get to know these students, they have left a lasting impression on me and I am sure that I speak for all of the teachers in saying how proud I am of the young adults that they have grown into during their time at the College.
The leadership that they have shown - particularly, although not exclusively, the Big Six - has been genuinely inspiring, and whether it is looking out for the interest of their fellow students, meticulously organising events or setting a positive example to those around them, it has been an absolute privilege to work with them.
I am sure that you will all join me in wishing them the best of luck with their examinations and the very bright futures that they all have ahead of them.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Secondary students set the stage on Monday, offering a diverse array of musical performances that captivated the audience. Then, on Wednesday, it was the turn of the Primary students to shine. It has been wonderful to see each of our students develop both their talent and confidence since I started at the College in September. A huge thank you is extended to all of our family and friends who came to the recitals, their support adding an extra layer of warmth to the already vibrant atmosphere.

Last night we celebrated, and show cased the musical talent in the Primary school through our Spring Concert. It was so lovely to come together as a community to support the accumulation of the children’s hard work and dedication.
The evening opened with an enthusiastic welcome from our Director of Music, Mr William Morrow who highlighted the dedication of our students to their musical development. The student’s commitment to excellence was evident in every note they played, and every song sung during the concert. One of the highlights of the evening was the solo performances by several of our exceptional musicians, from instrumental solos to vocal performances, each soloist captivated the audience. A special mention must be made of our dedicated music teachers and instructors who guidance and teaching has played a pivotal role in shaping these young musicians.

This event is poised to ignite the passions and ambitions of our students by connecting them with professionals from diverse industries, who will generously share their personal journeys and insights.
The Aspirations evening is not just another event on the calendar; it's a platform where dreams take flight and aspirations find direction. We believe that exposing our students to real-world experiences and perspectives is vital in shaping their futures. Through this initiative, we aim to empower our students to envision their own paths, set ambitious goals, and embark on fulfilling careers.
Our distinguished guests, professionals hailing from various industries, will graciously offer their time to engage in dialogue with our students. From entrepreneurs to scientists, artists to engineers, each speaker brings a unique story and set of experiences to the table. Our students will have the invaluable opportunity to ask questions, seek advice, and gain insights into what life is truly like in different career paths.
The driving force behind this initiative has been the dedicated efforts of Miss Stroud, Ms. McIntosh, and Mr. Acton. Their tireless work and commitment have brought the Aspirations evening from concept to reality. Their passion for supporting our students' growth and development is truly commendable, and we are immensely grateful for their hard work.
As we eagerly anticipate this event, we invite our students to come prepared with curiosity and open minds.
We are tremendously excited about the potential impact of the Aspirations event on our students' lives.
Warm regards,

From Sunday 28th April at 7:00 pm until Friday 3rd May at 7.00 pm , we are going to open join requests for your child/children to sign up for CCAs which are not yet at their maximum capacity. As usual, this sign-up process will be on our SchoolsBuddy iPad app or on the SchoolsBuddy website. Parents can log in with their iSAMS details, and children can sign up for their own CCAs using their usual school details.
We would also like to remind you of our previous Term 2 launch of the SchoolsBuddy iPad and mobile phone app. This app allows you to see your child/children’s CCA allocations, along with the correct day, specific location and the lead teacher. You can download the app from your app store, if you haven’t already.
The name of the app is SchoolsBuddy 2.0. Upon installing the app, type in Doha College and log in using your usual ISAMS username and password. As you click on the calendar button at the bottom of the screen, you will see your child/children’s CCA allocations for the remainder of Term 3. If your child/children changes their CCA, it’s important to log out of the SchoolsBuddy app and log back in again for the system to refresh with the new CCA allocations.
Students have access to the SchoolsBuddy app on their iPad already and we kindly request your encouragement in your child/children actively using this app.
If you need IT support with your login details, please email our IT help desk at help@dohacollege.com
Your child has received detailed instructions via email regarding how textbooks should be returned. Please note the following guidelines to assist us in keeping the process organised:
Location and Time for Returns: Textbooks can be dropped off at the secondary library or in the designated boxes located near the examination schedules by reception. The drop-off times are between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Procedure: It is important that textbooks are not returned to class teachers, as this prevents effective tracking. Instead, please ensure that textbooks are returned at the end of each exam.
Accountability: Please be aware that any textbooks that are lost or not returned will result in a deduction from your school deposit. The final deadline for textbook return is Sunday, 17th June 2024.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me at rratnayake@dohacollege.com.
Thank you for your support.
