In my presentation to parents of new pupils at the start of the academic year, I stressed the importance of what I like to call the triangle of support.
This is based on the principle that the needs of our children are absolutely paramount and have to be placed at the front and centre of all decision-making. As Doha’s only 3-18 not-for-profit school, we are uniquely placed to do this without having to send profit to wealthy owners or investors, or account for restrictive franchise fees being sent overseas so we can use the name and uniform of a wealthy UK independent school.
At the foundation of the triangle of support are our parents and staff who need to work together to provide our children with the highest levels of support. The better this relationship works, the greater the heights our children will ultimately achieve in their education and the more likely they are to become the very best version of themselves.
Have a wonderful weekend.

It has been another really busy week in the Primary school and the children have been working extremely hard. I have had lots of children visit the office to showcase their learning or to show great examples of work this week and our learners never cease to amaze me. From FS children coming to tell me about their good choices, to Year 6 students showcasing their debating skills - we really do have the most amazing students!
It has also been wonderful to meet so many of you this week as we have begun our Curriculum meetings. Your engagement and insightful questions fill me with confidence that we have such a wonderfully engaged community. Parents are vital to the educational success of our students and we greatly value the strength of our parent body.
As discussed in last week's newsletter update, these meetings are vital in providing parents with key information for the coming year. Our Head of Years are able to talk about the important curriculum changes from year-to-year and to also highlight any of the events that are special to a particular year group. We will also follow this up with a detailed overview of each term in our Parent Portal. This will go live next week after the completion of our Curriculum meetings. It is also a great platform to ask any questions.
Our Primary assembly this week was led by Mr Cann and Mrs Dalvi. In the assembly, they explored the theme of keeping safe and sharing any worries with a trusted adult. This builds on our previous theme of kindness and making sure that we are supportive and caring within and beyond our school community, (I now have hundreds of small acts of kindness notes in my office from the children!). During the assembly, Mrs. Dalvi used the example of carrying a bag of worries and then sharing these out with trusted adults to help the children understand that talking about what worries them can really help.
I hope you have a restful weekend.
