We are pleased to let you know that secondary students (Years 7–11) no longer need to wear lanyards to school. Thank you for supporting this routine over the past year—it really helped during a time of change.
Please ensure that your child keeps their photo identification with them should the security team need to confirm their year group and identity when entering the College site.
Before heading off for the Eid break, we kindly ask:
All Years 7–10 students to return their lanyards to their form tutor.
Year 11 and Year 13 students should return theirs to their Head of Year when they are next in for exams.
Year 12 students must retain their lanyards for the coming academic year, unless they are not returning.
This small change coincides with an update to the Primary School uniform, and we’re excited to move forward with a simpler, tidier look across the College!
Please note: All Sixth Formers will continue to wear their lanyards.

Doha College’s Science Department was a hive of activity and inspiration recently, as our Year 9 pupils took centre stage at the annual Science Fair – a much-anticipated event in the academic calendar that continues to grow in impact and imagination each year.
With curiosity at the heart of their work, pupils dazzled parents, staff and peers alike with an impressive range of independent research projects. From exploring the environmental benefits of bioplastics to analysing how music influences plant growth, students demonstrated a deep understanding of scientific processes and a passion for problem-solving.
Other thought-provoking investigations included using garlic to model climate change and examining the environmental impact of heavy metals, among many more diverse and original topics. Each group was responsible for designing and conducting their own experiments, collecting and analysing data, and presenting their findings with clarity, confidence, and creativity.
The standard of work on display was exceptional and served as a powerful testament to the critical thinking and communication skills our pupils are developing through science. The fair was not only a celebration of academic rigour but also a showcase of the enthusiasm and teamwork that underpin the learning experience at Doha College.
