This week has been a really busy one in College. We have had a team of BSO (British Schools Overseas) Inspectors in College all week looking at all the many wonderful things we do, as well as numerous events, such as the Year 9 and Year 11 Options Evening and the Year 11 Enrichment Day. I was very privileged to have been invited to take part in the judging of the presentations for the Enrichment Day, and I was incredibly impressed with what I saw. The winning group presented on the dangers of the proliferation of social media and used AI-generated videos to age themselves to create a highly memorable and impactful message. Inspiring stuff! Huge congratulations to all involved.

There have been some enquiries from parents regarding a lunch service for children in our Primary School.
We have spoken to our catering providers, IFS, and we would be able to provide a prepacked lunch for approximately 125QR per week (5 meals) if we have sufficient demand.
Each meal would include:
water or fruit juice
main meal, such as pasta or a sandwich
salad or vegetable portion
a piece of fruit
small pastry
This prepacked lunch would be taken to your child's class for break time each day.

This philosophy is deeply embedded in our school's ethos—' excellence from all, excellence for all'. It was a delight to witness this in action as our dedicated inspectors from the British Schools Overseas (BSO) visited. Their commendation of our students' and staff's enthusiasm and professionalism was indeed heartening.
During my visits to various classrooms, the high calibre of our student's work and their ability to articulate their learning journey stood out. It was clear that our students were eager to demonstrate how they embody our ethos by striving to 'get better at getting better' with each passing day.
Your unwavering support is the cornerstone of our success. It's the collaborative spirit that turns our aspirations into reality. Together, we make the dream work!
Thank you for being an integral part of our continuous journey towards excellence.

Dear parents,
As you know we had our BSO inspection this week, and whilst I cannot detail the outcome,
I can attempt to give an insight into how the week has gone. The atmosphere during the inspection was a true representation of the exceptional environment we strive to maintain every day.
The quality of lessons and the behaviour of our students were standout points that were apparent. The commitment of our teaching staff, the engagement of our students, and the overall sense of unity and enthusiasm throughout the school were noted and praised by the inspectors. I cannot express enough how proud I am of everyone's efforts in creating such a positive and nurturing environment for learning.
One of the highlights of our journey in education is not only the educational excellence but also the support we provide our students in exploring their career pathways. Our KS4 and KS5 options evenings were a resounding success, with fantastic attendance from both students and parents. These evenings play a vital role in assisting students in making informed decisions about their future. The guidance and support offered by our experienced staff and the participation of parents in these events truly exemplify the collaborative approach we take towards the academic and professional development of our students.
It has certainly been a busy but brilliant week. The students were referred to as ‘stars’ by the inspectors. Of course, we already knew this!

Alexandra, showcasing remarkable resilience and determination, debuted on the international stage at the Asian Junior Tennis Tournament under 14 in Qatar. Partnering with Rama from Egypt, Alexandra's synergy and skill propelled the duo to the finals. While they narrowly missed the top spot against a formidable Kazakhstani team, they clinched the runner-up position.
But the triumphs didn't stop there. At the tender age of under 12, Alexandra went on to dominate the Qatar Rail Tennis Open Tournament 2023, organized by QTF, where she emerged victoriously. Her stamina and fortitude throughout the matches were nothing short of inspiring.
These accomplishments are not just personal wins for Alexandra; they are a testament to the spirit and calibre of the students at Doha College.
The community celebrates Alexandra's achievements as they underscore the commitment to excellence we foster within our students.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Alexandra for her outstanding performance and look forward to her future endeavours in the sport. Her journey is a beacon of inspiration for all our students, proving that with hard work and perseverance, the sky is the limit.
We look forward to welcoming the Doha College community to see this amazing production on 18 November 2023.
Tickets are now available at Doha College Finance Office from 7.00am until 1.00pm, during the school week.
