What a week it has been! Our annual Sports Week has come to an end, and I couldn’t be prouder of our children for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination. The energy across the school has been simply electric, with every pupil giving their best and demonstrating incredible school spirit. A particular nod to the fantastic parent support on show as well… particularly those adventurous enough to take part in the parent race!

One of the highlights of the week has been seeing the House spirit in full force. Whether competing in sprinting, throwing, jumping, or fun team challenges, our children cheered each other on, supported their friends, and showed wonderful sportsmanship. The healthy competition between Houses and classes created a real sense of belonging, and it was fantastic to see the children taking such pride in their teams.
However, beyond the cups and points, Sports Week is about so much more than winning. It is about children discovering the joy of movement, the thrill of teamwork, and the confidence that comes from pushing themselves to try something new. From our youngest learners balancing and racing with huge smiles, to our older students demonstrating skill and strategy, there was a shared sense of achievement across the school.
At our core, we believe in fostering a lifelong love of physical activity and sport. Sports Week is just one way we encourage children to be active, to find joy in physical activity, and to develop habits that will support their well-being for years to come.
A huge thank you to our PE team, staff, and student volunteers who helped make this week such a success. And of course, well done to every child who participated with determination, joy, and resilience. You have all been champions this week!

We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Irwin as our new Primary Librarian! She has many exciting plans in store for our Primary Library, making it a vibrant hub for reading and discovery.
From a Genre of the Month feature and tailored book recommendations to the launch of our brand-new Student Librarian Programme, there’s so much to look forward to. The Primary Library is truly a hive of reading activity!
Students in Year 5 and Year 6 can now enjoy the library during their lunch breaks, whether to immerse themselves in a great book or exchange their current reads. Additionally, our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 libraries are open after school, allowing parents to visit with their children and explore new stories together.
We invite you to dive into our first Primary Library Blog from Mrs. Irwin below—happy reading!

I am delighted to announce that the Primary Library is now operating at full capacity. It was great to see how engaged our students have been, reading their chosen books in the library. Some avid readers from Year 5 and Year 6 have been making great use of the library’s new lunchtime opening hours. Furthermore, it has been wonderful to see our parents visiting the library to share books with their children after school.
To continue to promote reading for pleasure, the genre of the month for February, is Science Fiction. I would recommend reading the Astrosaurs series by Steve Cole. Find out whether Captain Teggs and his crew can solve their missions in space! Another recommendation is The Jamie Drake Equation by Christopher Edge. Will Jamie be able to rescue his astronaut dad without heading into space himself?
The half-term break is just around the corner. Boys and girls, make the most of the break and enjoy reading! I look forward to hearing what Sci-Fi adventure books you have read when you return to school.
Adventures come alive through books too!
Happy half-term break!

We are thrilled to announce the 321 Cultural Olympiad 2025, an inspiring competition that merges sport and art in the true spirit of the Olympic values.
Supported by the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, this initiative offers our pupils a unique opportunity to explore their creativity, deepen their understanding of Olympic history and ideals, and contribute to a vibrant, holistic school experience. Pupils can use the half term holidays to begin their artistic creations, drawing inspiration from the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum—a visit to the museum is encouraged for additional insight and inspiration.
Through this competition, pupils will create artworks that celebrate Olympic themes and values, reinforcing the importance of excellence, friendship, and respect. This initiative aligns with Doha College’s commitment to holistic education, providing students with enriching opportunities to develop their artistic talents, engage with global culture, and showcase their work.
We invite and encourage all parents to support their children in taking part in this exciting experience. Here’s a special presentation from the Big 4 with more details about the competition.
