There are a huge number of positive benefits for our pupils in engaging with this programme, which include:
Giving pupils an opportunity to find out more about a particular profession to see what they do or do not enjoy before they have to commit to a career path.
Allowing them to build on their communication, teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in an exciting new context.
Increasing their confidence and independence.
Allowing them to meet mentors and access professional networks which will be useful to them in the future.
Ensuring pupils have experiences which can add life and relevance to their university applications.
Helping develop motivation, professionalism and excitement as they prepare for life beyond school.
With this in mind, we would be very interested to hear from any members of our parent or alumni community who would be willing to offer additional placements, mentoring or support to either this year’s programme or future iterations of it.
In other news this week, I have had the great pleasure of meeting large numbers of applicant pupils and their families who have applied for places next year. Application rates have increased significantly and competition for places is looking to be very intense. As a result, if any families know that they will be relocating at the end of this academic year and you have not already alerted our admissions team to this, I would be extremely grateful if you could do so as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful weekend and my huge congratulations to the cast of Pygmalion for their fantastic performances this week.
