Year 8 pupils recently immersed themselves in a rich Cultural Food Exchange, bringing in dishes that represent their heritage and sharing the personal stories behind them. As part of their Cultural Studies lesson, pupils explored what we call a “Marcel Proust moment”, that powerful experience when a taste or aroma brings a memory rushing back.

From homemade family favourites to meaningful cultural classics, each dish offered a window into the pupils backgrounds and traditions. The event was a wonderful celebration of diversity, storytelling and the way food connects us to our roots, filling the classroom with warmth, curiosity and an impressive variety of flavours.

• Format: Afterschool on school site. Location TBC (60 minutes)

• Registration fee: £16
