This diversity was particularly evident on Tuesday of this week when we held our wonderful Cultural Day. To see so many parent volunteers come into College and make the day so spectacular for our students was so humbling, and the work and commitment that had gone into all of the country stalls was simply incredible. On behalf of all of the students, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for helping us learn about and appreciate your country and culture. Huge thanks too to the very many members of staff who helped to make the day such a success. We are so lucky to have you all within our community.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Principal
Your involvement plays a pivotal role in the success at Doha College.
Whether it's through the immeasurable support and guidance you give your children, volunteering with Friends of Doha College, actively participating in community events, or as members of Doha College Board of Governors - your contribution cannot be overstated. To find out more please click here.
For those that were with us last academic year, you may recall the last day of term finished a little early. However, I write to confirm this was an exception and it will be a normal school day for the end of term this year (Thursday 13th June).
Related, the final CCAs of the academic year will be on Thursday 6th June.
We recognise that it can be a pressured time for those doing drop-off and pick-up and frustrations can build towards the end of term and especially as the temperature increases.
That said, we would like to remind all members of the community the need to be patient and understanding with one another.
If there is a particular example of uncooperative behaviour, please flag it to a member of staff and we would be extremely grateful if you could refrain from any response or escalation.
Thanks, as ever, for your support in helping to make the College a safe and positive environment for the students.
Kind regards,
David Lish

Following the tragic news of Alexandra Ghosh’s passing, we are going to offer students the chance to give messages of support to the Ghosh family. I understand that the Year 11’s are currently in the midst of their IGCSEs, but I want to make sure they feel a part of this process. I will contact students with further details and if they want to take part, their contribution will be very welcome.
Take care
Eoin O’Connor
Head of Year 11
In Term 3, our thoughts naturally turn to transition and change - particularly with upcoming new classes, year groups, saying goodbyes and making new friends. These changes can sometimes be difficult to navigate for children and for us as parents, too.
Our Primary assemblies this term have been focused on change and how to manage this journey in an age-appropriate way. We have been consistently talking to the children about how they can manage their anxieties, fears, and worries, as well as who is available in school to help them with this. A fantastic resource which reinforces the messages we have been giving, and one that you may like to use at home, is the wonderful book 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' by Charlie Mackesy.
Below is a helpful article written for parents on how you can help your child, with some useful prompts: 'What to do and what not to do when children are anxious'.

We are here to help in school at any point should your child need support or you want to talk through any concerns you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher, Head of Early Years or Assistant Headteacher should you need to.

Please join us as we celebrate the creativity and skills of your children in a glittering evening showcasing the incredible work of our Year 11 and Year 13 students studying Fine Art and Photography, with the addition of a selection of work from Media and Design & Technology.
The work on display will include coursework and examination outcomes, along with preparatory pieces in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, lens-based media, moving imagery, mixed media, and three-dimensional design.
You will be able to see your child's creative interpretations in response to specific themes and briefs, speak with their teachers, and enjoy some music from our music students here at Doha College. Our annual exhibition is one of the major highlights of the academic year and is a proud moment for both staff, parents, and students alike. We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating the fantastic work and creativity shown by the students of Doha College.

The FDC Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday, 19th May 2024. The agenda included presenting a report on activities, sharing with parents the money raised, details of fundraising and non-fundraising events, and voting in new members for the annual committee.
We still have vacant positions open to join our FDC committee and will soon announce the opening for renominations for elections, so keep your eyes peeled for more information and how you can get involved and make a difference in our School community.
