One of our key priorities of this fledgling academic year is to provide as many opportunities as possible for parents to engage with the College and your children’s education.
It was wonderful earlier this week to have the first of our new format onsite parents evenings and over the past couple of weeks we have been holding our dedicated year group parent coffee mornings. These have proved very popular and I would like to extend my thanks to all those who have joined the sessions.
Whether you are able to join these mornings or not, I would very much encourage you to get involved with one or more of our three new parent groups who are looking to volunteer in College, assist with fundraising and organise community social events. If you would like to be involved, but have not yet signed up, please do contact Rashmi on rarora@dohacollege.com.
Our newly renovated Sports Cafe is open to parents at all times and now late into the evening (for any of you who are accompanying your children to Evo or academy activities). It is lovely to see how many members of our community are using this important facility. For most of the day it is a quiet and tranquil space, although it is worth noting that it can get busy around school break times when older pupils and staff gather. As one parent recently commented to me at such a time though - ‘it is wonderful to see (the pupils) smiling and laughing. I can’t believe how happy they are!’
