It is with great sadness that we write to share the news that Hashim Gamaleldin, a former Doha College colleague, passed away last week.  Hashim worked as a Government Liaison Officer within the Human Resources Department, starting work for Doha College in 2007 and leaving in June 2024, to leave Qatar and to relocate to Ohio in America with his family.  Our thoughts and sympathies are with Hashim's wife, Wigdam and his children, Faye, Fatima, little Hashim and Mohammed.  Faye, Fatima and little Hashim were all pupils at Doha College.

Over the seventeen years that he worked at Doha College, Hashim helped many new staff settle into life in Qatar, supporting them with their move to a new country.  Many current and former staff will have fond memories of working with Hashim, remembering him for his enthusiasm and willingness to go above and beyond to help others.  Despite facing a variety of health issues throughout his life, Hashim was a hugely positive individual who brightened the lives of everyone who knew or met him.  He will be deeply missed.

This is a tragic loss and a difficult time for everyone who worked with Hashim.  We have created a memory page form for the community to share their memories or messages of condolence.  This will be passed to Hashim's family at a later date.  We are also exploring other fitting ways to remember Hashim and will make a further announcement in due course about this.
