Textiles & Design is a Technology subject that combines creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving to design and create products that are fit for purpose. Students investigate, design, process, and manipulate textiles and other soft materials to develop innovative solutions that respond to authentic needs and opportunities. Through design thinking, experimentation, materials processing, and hands-on making, they build technical skills, test and refine ideas, and evaluate the social, cultural, environmental, and functional impact of their design decisions.
From wearable garments and textile products to creative and sustainable design solutions, students develop confidence in critical and creative thinking while building skills that are valued across a wide range of future pathways, including technology, engineering, product design, architecture, fashion, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
