Online Therapist for overcoming Anxiety and Panic Attacks

So as a professional psychotherapist I am often asked by my clients: Is it possible to overcome anxiety without using medications? Is it possible to heal from anxiety without using medications? And the answer is yes it is.

So medications have a place, but they should only be used as a short term way of managing the symptoms of anxiety. If you really want to recover from anxiety and you want to break free from your dependence on anxiety medications then you need to address the underlying psychological cause of your anxiety.

So anxiety, like any other form of emotional suffering including depression, is basically psychological in nature. It is caused by a psychological process. Now that process may be triggered by many different factors including a chemical imbalance in the body or brain, hormonal problems, and so on. There are many different types of triggers. But the important thing for you to understand is that those triggers trigger a psychological mechanism that creates the experience of anxiety and that is basically a habit. It's a psychological habit and that habit can be changed. And if you want to re recover from anxiety fully you have to change that habit. And that's what I focus on during my online therapy sessions for anxiety.

As an online therapist for anxiety, I will teach you how to apply mindfulness to heal that underlying habit that causes your anxiety. You do this by actively cultivating a conscious and compassionate relationship with our emotions. We effectively learn how to meditate on our anxiety. This is the best way to promote the healing and recovery from anxiety.

You have to change the way that you relate to it. You have to change from being reactive towards your anxiety to being compassionate towards your anxiety. If you fall into the habit of becoming reactive you simply feed the anxiety and it cannot heal. But if you generate and cultivate a relationship based on compassion with your anxiety then you create the right conditions that allow that anxiety to heal itself.

So it is the quality of your relationship with your anxiety that is the key factor for recovery from anxiety. The more that you can develop that compassionate relationship that is non-reactive, the more that you effectively teach the anxiety how to heal itself.

So we do this by meditating on our anxiety. We cultivate that quality of mindful relationship with it that allows it to learn how to heal itself. We can also help the anxiety heal by interacting with it. One of the most effective ways known for interacting with any kind of emotion, including anxiety and depression, is to interact with the imagery of that emotion.

So all emotions are based around imagery. It's how you see the emotion in the mind that really determines how strong that emotion is.

During our meditation on our anxiety we explore this imagery and then we explore changing the imagery. Because when you change that imagery you change the emotion.

So that's one of the methods that we can employ to help the anxiety learn how to change itself, by changing his imagery.

If you would like to see a therapist online for help with anxiety, I invite you to contact me and tell me more about yourself and how I can help you, and then we can schedule a session via Skype to help you overcome your anxiety.

So many people, these days, really like the convenience of online therapy for their anxiety. It's much easier and it's also just as effective, as long as you use a video platform like Skype.

If you can see each other, then the effectiveness of communication is just as good as it is seeing a therapist in person.

So if you'd like to see an online therapist for help with generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder or OCD or for agoraphobia or any other form of anxiety, then please email me and we can schedule a session at a time that works for you.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer via Skype is called Mindfulness Therapy and this is particularly effective for anxiety.

Basically during the online sessions, I will teach you how to apply mindfulness for working with your anxiety, for neutralizing those anxiety reactions that have become habitual.

We do this by actually learning how to meditate on our emotions and our thoughts using mindfulness meditation, where we make the emotion the central focus of your meditation.

We learn how to build a relationship with your emotions whereby you do not react or identify with those emotions, but are able to sit with the emotion in very much the same way that you would be able to sit with a child that was in pain.

In order to be comforting to the child and help the child you need to be able to sit with the child without becoming reactive, and that the first stage of mindfulness training. We call this developing equanimity, which simply means that you can sit with your emotions without becoming reactive, in that same way.

When you can do that then you can respond to the anxiety, or other emotions that you have detected that feed that anxiety, in a way that helps them heal.

So the first step is not making the anxiety worse by reacting to it. The second stage is learning how to respond to your anxiety with compassion, how to help that anxiety heal, and one of the primary ways we do this is by building that very relationship itself, the relationship between your True Self. And the emotion, which we often call the Little Self.

When that anxiety feels the presence of your True Self then that facilitates the healing and resolution of that anxiety. In most cases the real reason why the anxiety does not heal is because it becomes isolated from your True Self. And that is similar to the situation in which a child is abandoned and isolated from its parents. It needs its parents in order to overcome its own fear and to grow in a healthy way.

And so it is with our emotions. Typically they become isolated and cut off from our True Self, and this prevents them healing.

So during mindfulness meditation we strive to re-establish this relationship between your True Self, the Observer, and the emotion itself. This is the first stage of mindfulness therapy for anxiety. And there are many other aspects of Mindfulness Therapy for anxiety, which you can learn about by spending more time on my website and reading more of the pages there and watching more of the videos on my website.

But if you'd like to get started with me and see for yourself just how effective online Mindfulness Therapy is for treating anxiety, then simply email me and we can schedule is Skype Therapy session for your anxiety.

Most people see results within the first three to four sessions. The mindfulness approach is extremely effective for treating anxiety.

So if you'd like to see an online therapist for help with your anxiety and you like the mindfulness approach that I am specialized in and teach you during the online therapy sessions, then simply reach out to me via email and schedule an online therapy session. Thank you.

How to Overcome Anxiety through Mindfulness Meditation Therapy

Mindfulness Meditation Therapy is one of the most successful psychotherapies available for overcoming anxiety disorders. It has elements of CBT but focuses much more on changing the actual process that creates anxiety and depression in the mind.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist offering Mindfulness Therapy, which is my specialty and which I talk about in my book, "The Path of Mindfulness Meditation."

If you would like to learn more about how to overcome anxiety through mindfulness meditation, do please go to my website and learn more about this unique approach to overcoming anxiety.

Mindfulness Therapy is particularly effective for anxiety and also for depression, and this is because it teaches you how to change your relationship to your emotions and to your thoughts so that you don't become so easily overwhelmed by recurring patterns of emotional reactivity or intrusive thoughts.

This is the major problem that most people face - is what we often call "rumination" or "automatic reactive thinking" that triggers the underlying emotion of depression or anxiety.

Mindfulness allows us to break free from this automatic process by making it conscious. We begin to see the thoughts as triggers and the moment we see the process happening we can stop it right there and then through becoming conscious of that trigger.

With practice you can learn to see thoughts and emotional reactions as they arise in the mind, but then you are able to stop them turning into anxiety and depression. In this way, we take the fuel away from that underlying anxiety or depression. If you stop feeding the fire of anxiety or depression then the emotion will burn itself out and healing becomes possible.

During Mindfulness Therapy we learn how to actually meditate on our anxiety or depression or other painful emotions. And, it is through this process that you begin to change the whole process that creates the emotional suffering.

If you would like to learn more about how to overcome anxiety or depression using Mindfulness Therapy, please go to my website and CONTACT ME and then we can schedule a therapy session over Skype.

Mindfulness Therapy works really well through online Skype therapy sessions. So, please go to my website and contact me. Thank you!

Online Therapy to Overcome Anxiety and Panic Attacks without Medication

How to overcome an anxiety disorder through Mindfulness Therapy via Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provide online mindfulness therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression and addictions. But mostly people come to me for help with anxiety disorders. This is by far the most common problem that most people struggle with. So if you're interested in mindfulness therapy for overcoming an anxiety disorder do please reach out to me by e-mail. Go to my website, learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and how it can help you overcome your anxiety disorder.

So anxiety disorders, generally, describe problems that are persistent, that are chronic in nature. It's not the short term anxiety that we might experience for example giving a presentation or something like that. We are concerned with persistent recurrent anxiety. So generalized anxiety disorder is one kind of very common anxiety that is characterized by chronic worrying, just catastrophizing, just basically a form of anxiety that is characterized by the proliferation of anxiety based thoughts that just keep feeding that anxiety in a vicious circle. Social anxiety disorder as another anxiety disorder that I work with is also based on a whole network of habitual reactive thoughts and beliefs that feeds a basic underlying insecurity in social situations.

And it is very important to work with your anxiety disorder and not let it grow and gain strength, because it tends to continue to grow if not checked. It's like a weed. And if you don't take care of it it will start to limit you more and more. Because one of the key problems that people experience when they're suffering from an anxiety disorder is they start to get into patterns of avoidance and aversion, that is trying to run away from the anxiety. They try to limit their exposure to anxiety producing situations. They try to avoid the source.

The only effective method to overcome an anxiety disorder like generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder or obsessive compulsive disorder as well is by actually not avoiding it but actually facing it very directly, very head on. But in a strategic way. Not just allowing yourself to become overwhelmed by the anxiety.

Then we choose to meditate on each of those thoughts. So this is developing non-avoidance. This is developing that conscious relationship. We learn to see the anxiety producing thought as an object in the mind, which is what it is, what it always was to begin with. We see it as an object that gets triggered in the mind and it arises in the mind. And our job is to see it clearly without identifying with it, without trying to push it away.

So we develop a conscious relationship with it, as if we hold that thought in a space and we embrace it in that space but without feeding it through reactivity. That is what produces change. And it can be very quick as well in producing changes and basically undoing that habit of reactive thinking that feeds the anxiety.

So we deliberately meditate on our anxiety thoughts, we don't avoid them. The second part of mindfulness therapy involves looking at the structure of those thoughts. Besides the proliferation of reactive thinking around the anxiety we also look at the actual structure, the internal structure of the anxiety itself, and that structure is in the form of imagery.

So all emotions are based around imagery, that is what holds them together in the mind, gives them structure and investigating that imagery is a very, very effective way of neutralizing the anxiety habit, the anxiety reactions, to begin with.

So to learn more simply e-mail me and to schedule a session simply tell me what times and days work for you and we can then go ahead and schedule the first therapy session. Most people see quite dramatic changes after that very first session and certainly within three or four sessions you can expect to see major improvements and a major reduction in the level of anxiety that's affecting you. So please reach out to me by email and let's schedule an online mindfulness therapy session for your anxiety. Thank you.
