Gina Hensman

Georgina (Gina) Hensman rode for three seasons under National Hunt rules and recorded one victory.

A conditional for Newmarket trainer Willie Musson, she had her first ride at Stratford on October 22, 1983, when Duke’s Heir was beaten a long way in the Autumn Conditional Jockeys’ Selling Hurdle, finishing sixth of ten.

She rode her only winner at Windsor on March 5, 1984, when Sir Givenchy led at the second last flight and landed the Final Conditional Jockeys’ Selling Hurdle by eight lengths. The six-year-old had been ridden by top jockeys Peter Scudamore and Richard Linley on his two previous unsuccessful starts, yet despite Gina having won on him she was not given another chance.

Her final ride saw her finish third on Patralan in the Mundham Selling Handicap Hurdle at Fontwell Park on March 18, 1986.
