Barry Hood

Barry Hood, from Bradford, West Yorks., was born on April 14, 1954, and served an eight-year apprenticeship with Jimmy Etherington.

He rode his first winner, Alibita, on June 22, 1974.

Barry formed a great partnership with Grey Aglow, the pair winning six races.

His best season came in 1977 when he scored five times. 

Barry's father was a joiner and his mother was a shop manager.
