William Hollick (died 1963)

William Roderick Hollick, better known as Bill Hollick, was born at Cuckfield in 1908. He lived at 6, Lewins Road, Epsom, Surrey and, during the War, spent four years with 5th R.I.D.C.Bill started his career on the Flat before switching to jumping. He was employed by trainer George Duller who, in his time, had been one of the most brilliant hurdles jockeys ever.

Bill won Sandown’s Imperial Cup in 1932 on Last of the Dandies, who he rated the best horse he'd ridden. He also won Cheltenham’s County Hurdle twice, on Jack Grange in 1934 and Celibate II in 1941.

He died in Surrey in 1963, aged 55.
