Eugene Husband

Eugene Llewellyn Husband was born on March 16, 1973, and, at one time, lived at 11, Landor Cescent, Rugeley, Staffordshire.

He rode his first winner, Grey Rum, at Folkestone on 15 August 1990.

He maintained a decent winning average in his early years: 1997 – 9 from 120 rides, 1998 – 14 from 170 and 1999 – 19 from 240.

Eventually, he turned to jump racing, winning the Stratford Summer Cup.

He took his final ride, Hi Tech, on January 17, 2003, then – with the aid of Jets (jockeys' employment & training scheme) achieved a Level 3 Award for Transporting Horses.
