Ingredients
For the Apple Filling:
6 Gala apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1/4 cup TAO Gala Apple Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
For the Crumble Topping:
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 cup TAO Gala Apple Balsamic Vinegar (for drizzling)
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced Gala apples, Gala Apple Balsamic Vinegar, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, salt, and all-purpose flour. Toss until the apples are well coated. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix together the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts (if using).
Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend the butter into the dry ingredients until it forms coarse crumbs.
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Transfer the prepared apple filling into a greased 9x9-inch (23x23 cm) baking dish.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, and the apple filling is bubbling.
Remove the apple crumble from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Just before serving, drizzle the top of the apple crumble with Gala Apple Balsamic Vinegar for an extra burst of flavor.
Serve warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
