Darren Davison
Class of 1990
Following his graduation from Big Piney High School in 1990, Darren Davison continued his education at ITT Technical Institute in Salt Lake City earning his engineering degree. Since that time, Darren has been employed by Jorgenson Associates of Engineers. Although impressive in itself, it is Darren’s work within the Big Piney and Marbleton communities that distinguishes himself as a Big Piney High School graduate.
Darren helped in the founding of Big Piney Search and Rescue and served in that group for a total of eighteen years including a stint as the Director of Search and Rescue for two of those years. Adding to his community involvement was a two- year term that found Davison on the Big Piney Town Council.
In 2003, Darren started his own business of metal works. His company, Iron Outfitters, and his products can be seen throughout our communities. One of his early works has been witnessed many times at the entrance to Sublette County School District #9 Outdoor Athletic Complex.
Recreation has always played an important part in Darren's lifestyle. He helped form Hell Hole Archers in 1987 and the group is still active today holding many shoots for the community. Darren has helped with activities at the Recreation Center and working with the youth of our communities. For nine years, Darren worked with 4H groups teaching archery and safety measures associated with the sport.
As a successful swimmer as a Puncher during his high school days. Davison returned to the pool as a coach for the Big Piney schools. Coach Davison coached the BP Middle School girls’ team for three years and then the BP High School boys’ team an additional three years.
Darren Davison's random acts of kindness are helping to make Big Piney a better place to call home.
