With his graduation in 2007, Seth Linn’s outstanding career as a student/athlete for Big Piney High School ended. This Puncher athlete not only excelled in the athletic arena but was also an academic standout. During his four years of high school, Linn earned all-state honors five times. During this time, he also achieved the distinction of being named Salutatorian of his graduating class of 2007.
As a football player, Seth Linn earned All-Conference and All-State honors for three years. During his four years as a Puncher, his teams won a total of thirty-two games including state championships in 2004 and 2006. As a junior, Seth Linn was selected as the Rocky Mountain Defensive Player of the Year. As a senior, he surpassed that honor by being named the 3A State Player of the Year. He was selected to the Super 25 by the Casper Star and was later picked to play for the South team in the Wyoming Shrine Bowl. The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame named him the named him the top scholar athlete in Wyoming and his named in enshrined at the College Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana as Wyoming’s 2007 winner of this prestigious award.
As a track athlete, Seth’s accomplishments parallel that of his football accomplishments. He helped lead his talented team to three top four finishes at state meet and earned all-state honors on three occasions. Trackster Linn stood on the awards stand fourteen times during his four year career and stood atop as the awards podium as the state champion in the triple jump his junior year. A second gold medal was earned as a member of the 4X100 state champion relay team.
During his senior year, Seth was selected as Mr. BPHS by the student body to go along with his Salutatorian honors of the Class of 2007.
