Andy Krieger was an outstanding student/athlete at Big Piney High School participating in three sports. It was his outstanding performance and abilities on the football field that earned Andy a spot in the Big Piney Athletic Hall of Fame. As a senior, Andy helped lead a very talented group to the 2A State Football Championship. His play was recognized by the coaches from around the state as they named him the 2A State Player of the Year. This three-year starter for the Punchers also earned recognition by being named to the K95 Southwest Wyoming All Star team and was named the Most Valuable Player of this group of football players from around Southwest Wyoming. During his four years as a Puncher, his teams were in three state play-offs and the team was a runner-up in his sophomore year and culminated with the Championship in 1989. Over those three years, Puncher teams won twenty-eight of the thirty-seven games played. Andy was selected to play in the 1989 Shrine Bowl game, but was unable to participate due to his commitments to the United States Air Force Academy. The Air Force Academy recruited him to play football at their prestigious school. A shoulder injury ended any chances of playing at the Air Force Academy. Andy later transferred to the University of Wyoming where he finished his formal education with a degree in engineering. He is currently the Vice President of Operations for British Petroleum.
