Earning five All-State honors over his four years justifies Justin McDonald induction into the Big Piney Athletic Hall of Fame. This 2004 graduate was a member of five state championship teams during his time as a Puncher.
A four-year football letter winner, McDonald earned Rocky Mountain All-Conference football honors in both his junior and senior seasons. He topped those honors by being named to the 2A All-State team in each year as well. More accolades continued as Justin was named to the Casper Star's Super 25 football team. The senior athlete later represented Big Piney in the 2004 Shrine Bowl. During his four years, the talented Puncher teams won thirty-two games including two state championships and three Rocky Mountain Conference Championships.
As a basketball player, Justin McDonald earned All-Conference honors as a junior and as a senior and was named to the 2A All-State team as a senior. He was selected by the coaches of the Rocky Mountain Conference as its Player of the Year during the Puncher's conference championship season in 2004.
Justin McDonald earned All-State honors in three seasons as a trackster. The highlight
of his track career was a gold medal performance in the long jump his senior year. As a freshman, he earned All-State honors as a member of the champion 3200m relay team. His senior team finished third in the state meet following state championship runs in Justin’s first three seasons. He was awarded the Mr. Track Award as a sophomore and junior and won the Most Points Award as a senior.
