1982 Wyoming State Basketball Tournament as told by Coach Mack Rawhouser: It was in the semi-finals and the Punchers were playing a strong Pine Bluffs team with the winner advancing to the state championship. The lead had been going back and forth for the entire game and everyone knew it was going to come down to the fourth quarter. With the score tied and only twelve seconds to play, a Puncher time out was called and a play was drawn up. The play was designed for Jimmy Olson to bring the ball up the court on the opposite side of Ron Chapin, who was to get the ball for the last shot. Cal Barnes was to go along the baseline and set a pick for Chapin. Olson was then to pass the ball to John Fear who would enter the ball into Chapin for an easy shot. Great play, so they thought. Harry Titmus entered the ball into Olson and as he turned to bring the ball up the court, his team mates had already begun the play with the ball still in back court. Without hesitation Olson brought the ball to the top of the key knowing the play was busted. He made a fake and the Pine Bluffs player took a step back and Jimmy Olson let it fly. As they say," Nothing but Net" and the Punchers advance to the state championship game to play Lusk High School. Sorry to say but we should let the story end there.
