Graduation in 1984 brought an end to an outstanding athletic career for Glenn Eiden. During his four years as a Puncher, Glenn excelled in all three of the sports he participated in. It was his individual efforts in swimming that deserve considerable acknowledgement.
As a swimmer, Glenn was a letter winner and a state meet scorer for the Punchers all of his four years. During his time in the water, the talented Puncher teams finished runner-up at the Wyoming State Swim Meet three times and had a third place finish the other year. The Puncher teams were twice edged out of a state championship by less than seven points. Individually, Glenn stood on the awards stand at the state meet nearly a dozen times and earned Wyoming Coaches Association All-State honors three years. As a sophomore, Glenn was the state champion in the 100 Free. Adding to his collection of gold medals were two first place finishes as part of Puncher relay teams. To go along with his gold medals, Glenn added silver and bronze medals no less than seven more times.
Swimming was not the only sport that found Glenn’s talent being utilized, appreciated, and acknowledged. Glenn was a two-year starter for the Puncher football team. At the conclusion of his senior year, Glenn was selected to the 2A Southwest All-Conference football team. In basketball, he was a player on talented Puncher teams that qualified for three state tournaments highlighted by a runner-up finish and a consolation championship during his time on the court.
