Leslie Jackson’s track career ended with graduation in 2000. During her four years as a Big Piney athlete, she established herself as of the finest distance runners ever to compete for the Lady Punchers. Not only did she excel for Big Piney but she also excelled for Jackson High School as a member of their high school’s Cross-Country team.
By winning the events, Leslie earned All-Conference honors a total of ten events at the regional track meet. She was a four time champion of the 1600m, three time champion of the 3200m run and a member of the winning 3200m relay team three times.
At the Wyoming State Track Meets, Leslie stood on the awards platform a total of thirteen times during her four year stint as a Lady Puncher. She earned All-State recognition a total of five times; three times in the 1600m and twice in the 3200m run. She helped lead the Lady Punchers to a third place finish in the 1997 Wyoming State Meet. She earned the Big Piney High School Most Points Award for track in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and set school records in all of her events.
As Lady Bronco for Jackson High School, Leslie earned All-Conference honors as a junior and senior. She topped that by being named to the 3A All-State Cross Country team. Leslie helped the Jackson team to a third place finish at the 3A State Meet.
Leslie continued her career as a track and cross-country athlete for the University of Wyoming. Now a massage therapist, she is still active in distant running and cycling events held near her home in Meridian, Idaho.
