In 1977, Emma Bromley began her service for Sublette County School District 9 with work in the superintendent's office. The following fall, Emma moved to Big Piney High School where she served as secretary for the next twenty-six years. It was her never ending and often thankless work as secretary for the principal as well as the activities
director that significantly contributed to the athletic programs of Big Piney High School.
For many of those years, Mrs. Bromley's duties included contracting officials for all home games as well as providing them with payment. She was responsible for counting gate receipts and concession monies after each game. Emma was also responsible for making reservations for teams and other activity and staff travel. For over twenty-six
years, Emma printed and updated hundreds upon hundreds of programs for all home activities.
Not to limit herself to these responsibilities, Emma was always among the first to volunteer for other duties such as helping with home track meets and swim meets as well as taking tickets for state football play-offs. Emma Bromley will say that she just did her job and enjoyed her years and the people without considering what a valuable asset she was to Big Piney High School and its athletic programs.
Now living in the Salt Lake area, Emma and husband Mike are enjoying life being close to their families and grandchildren and slipping off to the gym daily for yoga and the “Silver Sneakers Class.”
