Andrew Priddis
Class of 2006
Andrew Priddis epitomizes the term ‘Student/Athlete’. Like many previously inducted athletes into Big Piney Hall of Fame, scholastic achievements often went hand in hand with athletic achievements. Andrew may have taken that a step forward with the many accomplishments he has set during his time at Big Piney High School. Hard work, dedication and determination persisted as a student throughout the four years. Scholastically, Andrew earned valedictorian honors as a graduating senior. Using his special music skills as an unprecedented three-time Wyoming All-State Choir selection, Andrew sang most, if not all, of his Valedictorian address.
Athletically, Priddis was an active participant in all three sports but it was his track accomplishments that highlight his career.
Andrew lettered all four of his seasons in track by qualifying for the state track meet. As a freshman, he earned a spot at state in the 110m hurdles. For the next three years he repeated and culminated with a gold medal in that event as a senior. That was not the only event that Andrew Priddis garnered an individual state championship. He was also was the 300m hurdles champion later in the meet. Priddis then teamed up with three other talented runners and earned his third gold in the 4X100m relay. During his four years the Puncher track team finished in the top four each year including a Wyoming State Championship in 2003.
As a basketball player, young Priddis lettered two years and as a starter received All Conference honorable mention for his play as a senior.
Getting a late start as a football player, Priddis earned a starting defensive end role as a senior, his only year of participating in the sport. His Puncher team played on before bowing out in the state semi-finals. For his play, Andrew was awarded the Newcomer of the Year Award by the coaching staff.
Andrew continued his education at BYU and earned a mechanical engineering degree and currently works in robotics where you can find his name on thirty-eight US patents.
